GEOsix Low Power Digitizer/Recorder

GEObit introduces the GEOsix series high-resolution 6+1 analog seismic channels telemetry digitizer/recorder. The size of the instrument is only 168 x 106 x 68 mm. The power consumption is only 1.2 W for six channels. The available sampling rate is 100 to 500 SPS/6ch, 100 to 1000 SPS/3ch, and optional lower sampling intervals are supported. A built-in GPS receiver combined with an ultra-accurate DPLL unit, providing time drift 10e-9 sec, ensures timing stability even without a GPS signal. NTP timing is also available. The unit is very flexible and accepts several types of analog front-end units, so any type of seismic sensor can be connected. Additionally, it provides eight extra-low resolution and rate analog inputs for seismometer mass position monitoring or any other environmental parameter monitoring.

Additional Details

The unit features eight TTL command outputs for controlling the seismometer or other external devices. It typically includes a differential variable gain preamplifier and supports a force-balance sensor front end, offering a wide-band response (10 sec – 98 Hz) and high sensitivity (1500 V/m/s) with a C100 sensor. Users can set acquisition parameters and operation modes through a user-friendly web interface. The unit operates in continuous, triggered, or both modes, with data streaming through various ports. Local data storage and log files are optional. It supports advanced functionality via trusted open-source software and can run custom applications due to its open-source architecture.

The hardware uses an embedded ARM9 400 MHz ARM Linux board. Data is stored in mini-SEED format on a microSD card or removable USB stick. It features a 10/100 Ethernet port, a debug port, and supports FTP, SFTP, and SSH. Health status is transmitted via UDP packets upon request.
